I needed a place to put food scraps, pronto.

We have a ton of work to do to clear the yard, so there's not really a permanent spot for a compost right now. I needed something cheap, simple and temporary.

I happened to have most of a full roll of chicken wire left over from the decorations for our farm wedding (also a ton of mason jars, obviously). I picked up a few garden stakes from the garden store and grabbed some zip-ties from the basement.

I topped the whole thing off with a piece of plywood and couple cinderblocks I found behind the garage to keep the critters out and voila.

I'll replace this with something more attractive in the spring.
